wow, not said owt here since April..actually, that’s about right, though we’ve played a few gigs here & there over the summer it’s mainly been about getting our new bass player up to speed (quite literally!) with the set.

though we’ve been around a while, things have often felt incomplete and we’ve never truly hit our stride. recent gigs have hands-down been the best we’ve ever played and the momentum that’s been on simmer over the summer is now getting ready to boil over – new songs, new tours, new releases, new merch – it’s all on the horizon and we’re super fuckin siked!

so nothing really to shout about here, but we’ll be yelling, screaming and kicking real soon with much awesome news..oh, and well done to Marmozets who we had the pleasure of playing with earlier this year and have recently been named by the mighty Kerrang! as one of the UK’s top unsigned bands!

its been a very long time coming, but we’re very proud to announce that our long-time friend Jamie Silver will now be performing bass duties within antares – last nights gig with Today Is The Day was his trial by fire, and he came through unscathed whilst transforming the antares experience with those long-needed lower frequencies.

Jamies other musical ventures include Errander, Cocean and The Nothing, and with him we can now boast having a bearded member, so as you can see it’s an all-round win.

Our next gig will be at The Library Pub in Leeds, the Amen Ra alldayer, come and see the new and improved antares :

the tomassi split 7″ has been received by the label back from the pressing plant, it’s an actual physical entity (not just a bunch of 1′s and 0′s, paying for pixie dust!).
if you’ve pre-ordered expect them over the next week or so I guess (this is Not the official party line, just me assuming..)..there’s a little picture of it on the pre-order page (see link in previous news).

Just been announced by the label that our two new tracks will surface on a split 7″ with the excellent Rolo Tomassi, get your pre-order and check out the tracks here (blue or clear vinyl) :

we’ve just surfaced from an intense 5-day session with Jason Sanderson up at the Barnsley HQ, the tracks are sounding great and now we’re just waiting on confirmation of this release – expect new tunes sooons!

booked! we’re nailing the new song of the set Zanussi Versus Ant and another as-yet-unfinished…feels like the 2nd song is gonna be a bit good!

we’ve just been asked if we’ve got anything to record for a split 7″ with a friends band. two songs have been earmarked for said project, lets see what happens…

Unfortunately our next gig has been cancelled – The Boy Will Drown have had to cancel the first leg of their European tour which was set to land on Leeds with the mighty Wreck Of The Minotuar.  We’re pretty gutted, as we’ve been wanting to play with WOTM pretty much since we started this band, but hey these things happen..

Offset is a week away, so I’ve knocked up a handful of DIY-effort shirts (fabric paints are my new Fave thing!) – check the red design here :
